Emergency Ride Home Program

Parking & Transportation Services offers a free emergency ride home program for University of Arizona employees and students who are alternative transportation users. The emergency ride home program is designed to encourage people to use our campus alternative transportation programs and still feel confident in their ability to get home if an emergency arises.

What constitutes an emergency?

An emergency is a situation that one has no control over. During an emergency, if left without transportation, an employee or student may utilize our program.

An emergency may include a student or employee feeling too ill to bike or walk home, a child who needs to be immediately picked up from school due to illness, a carpool partner leaving early due to illness or staying late due to unexpected overtime, or missing the last bus due to unexpected overtime

The emergency ride home program will not transport a sick employee or student directly to a hospital. In this situation, it is best to call 911 for emergency assistance.

Instructions

If you are an alternative transportation user and have an emergency please call the emergency ride phone number at 621-1108.

Parking and Transportation Services will arrange for a Lyft to pick you up and take you where you need to go. There is no charge! Parking and Transportation Services will pay the Lyft fare, including tip.

If you use a wheelchair or must transport a child, please notify us so that we may notify the Lyft driver of your special needs.

A UA Cat Card must be shown for eligibility.

How often can an employee or student use the service?

The emergency ride program is designed for occasional use. Each situation will be examined. Anyone found abusing the program may be denied service. Parking and Transportation Services thanks you for using alternative transportation and going green!
